FIRST® LEGO® League

FIRST® LEGO® League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children ages 9-16 through fun and exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together.

We are bringing this to central Africa.

Discovering Interest

Sharing what FIRST LEGO League is about with schools, students and governments is the first step. When we tell people about our project, parents say their kids have been waiting for an opportunity like this at their school.

Why are they waiting?

Addressing Roadblocks

Whether they're located tens of miles from the city, don't have internet, or lack the resources to start a team, STEM Inspires fixes the problem. We also host capacity-building workshops for coaches to enhance their abilities to support the teams they manage.

Getting it Started

STEM Inspires meets with students and presents to them the FIRST LEGO League. Highlights of the presentation include the learning and community experiences every member is sure to have if they join. You don't have to say much to gather excitement.

Continuous Support

Learning how to build robots isn't easy. With direct communication with the team leaders, STEM Inspires supports the development, building, education, and management of the FIRST LEGO League teams for their first months of learning.

Elements of Education

There are three key parts we focus on to equip and educate our program participants for the best chances of commitment and success.

BUILD EXCITEMENT

By visiting schools to showcase the FLL program we generate a vision for what's possible. We talk to heads of school, teachers, and students to make sure they are all ready to commit 100%.

BUILD THE RESOURCE BASE

We donate starter kits, expansion sets, and competition mats to schools that are interested in the competition but can't afford it on their own.

BUILD ENGINEERS

Continuous support helps teams reach their full potential. We host mentoring sessions, share online resources, and meet with the team on a weekly bassis.
